Apple Tart

Base & Crumble:

Filling:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 4 med apples (I used what i had which was 3 granny smith & 1 empire)
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 2-3 tbsp WOWBUTTER
  • Cornstarch Mixture (2 tsp cornstarch + 2 tsp water)

Base:
Place WOWBUTTER, flour and 1/2 c of brown sugar into bowl and mix together with a hand mixer, add just enough water that mixture will hold together when pressed. Press 3/4 of the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 8" spring form pan and bake for approximately 5 mins in a 350ºf oven. While the base is cooking you can start on the filling.

Filling:
Peel, core and slice apples - set aside
Melt butter & cinnamon in a pot over medium heat. Add apples, sugar and water to pot and stir together. Cover and cook for 4-6 mins (you can stir a couple times in between for even cooking) or until the apples are starting to soften. Mix in the WOWBUTTER, once melted add in your cornstarch mixture (you may need more or less depending on the apples used and your preference of thickness). Let bubble for one minute and then remove from heat and add into your spring form pan.

Crumble:
Take the remaining mixture from your base add the addition brown sugar, cinnamon & butter and give it a quick mix. Sprinkle over filling and bake for 12-15 mins at 350ºf
